City of Nampa Closes Golf Courses and City Park Restrooms

To support and encourage our residents to stay home, as ordered by Governor Little, and to reduce the potential spread of Coronavirus in Canyon County, we have decided to close our golf courses and park restrooms until further notice.
The two Nampa municipal golf courses which are closing are Centennial Golf Course and Ridgecrest Golf Club.

The City of Nampa closed playgrounds at park locations earlier this week and has decided to close restrooms at public parks effective immediately. While we understand restrooms are a necessity, our first priority is to protect our citizens against the spread of Coronavirus in Nampa.

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling said, “While I understand some will not appreciate the closure of the golf courses and restrooms, with confirmed cases of Coronavirus spread in Canyon County, we all need to do our part now in reducing the spread of this virus. Please honor the Governor’s stay-home order.”

CITY OF NAMPA PLAYGROUNDS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Nampa Parks & Recreation Department and Nampa School District will CLOSE all playgrounds effective immediately and until further notice.
There are 23 city managed playgrounds within the City of Nampa. We ask residents to refrain from using swings, slides and avoid using or touching any other park equipment until further notice.
Parks and Recreation maintenance staff will be taping off all playgrounds beginning March 25 and posting signs in English and Spanish at each site alerting residents to these closures.
Although the playgrounds will be closed, the parks and pathways will remain open to the public at this time. Please note this is subject to any further guidance issued by the health district or State of Idaho. Citizens are reminded to follow recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and local health authorities.
